ProSiebenSat.1 shuts down

German media publishing house ProSiebenSat.1 acquired the German social network in 2011. While other networks like Facebook took off, never really did. According to the company, numbers dropped from 2010, where it had 3.6 million registered users, to today, where it has 600,000 monthly visitors.

Sponsoo raises €300,000

Hamburg-based Sponsoo announced a funding round last week. The startup for sport sponsoring raised from also Hamburg-based business angel Thomas Weidner, the finance experts Dirk Frohnert and Björn Bauermeister as well as Vienna-based business man Florian Körner.

Auctionata CEO steps down

Online auction house Auctionata has a new CEO: Co-founder Alexander Zacke steps down and becomes Chief Marketplace Officer. New business head will be former Bertelsmann executive board member Thomas Hesse.
