Berlin’s favorite social image-sharing smartphone app EyeEm has just been upgraded for use with Android and iOS version 2.0. Now, pocket photographers worldwide using the free-to-download EyeEm app can benefit from personalized avatars and status bubbles. A comprehensive host of other new features accompany the upgrade, including a folder which automatically greets your log-in with images from nearby locations and events.
“Since launching in August, our growing community – with members from 134 countries – has created over 35,000 unique locations and the platform has hosted 15,000 user events,” EyeEm co-founder, Florian Meissner told VentureVillage in a press release today. “It’s amazing to see how creatively our community uses the app to collaboratively take photos around topics, events and places in ways we haven’t even thought of. These results have inspired us to develop an alternative view on what is going on around us – through the viewfinders of thousands of smartphone photographers worldwide.”
Next in the pipeline for EyeEm is a feature which allows developers to make use of the huge cache of unique images recorded by users worldwide. We’ll keep an eye on it!
