Berlin's favorite celebrity startup investor Ashton Kutcher is tipped to star as arguably the world's most iconic tech founder - Steve Jobs.
Joshua Michael Stern will direct the indie flick, titled Jobs, and shooting is scheduled to start in May, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The film will follow Jobs' rise from Northern California hippie all the way to Apple.
We say Kutcher's well qualified to pick up the role even if he leans more to comedy than drama. Not only is there a pretty decent resemblance to Jobs (see above for the proof) but he's making a name for himself in the Berlin tech scene.
Jobs versus Jobs
Meanwhile, Sony has bought the rights to a rival biopic based on Walter Isaacson's immense authorised biography of Jobs, published last October. It's likely to be a bigger budget and quite possibly more serious affair with Aaron Sorkin (Moneyball, The Social Network) rumoured to be writing the screenplay.
