Plans for a heavyweight web and digital-info feast are well underway, as the crème of the world’s online community readies itself for Berlin Web Week. Much like a music festival for tech devotees, ideas-people, investors, and all-round geeks, the eight-day event will feature conferences from various industry talents and key players..
And here’s the line-up:
re:publica – 2-4 May
In its sixth consecutive year in its native Berlin, re:publica has arguably grown to one of Germany’s largest conferences for the blogging and social media society. This year’s theme ‘Action!’ aims to capture the power of pushing social media for political movements – to showcase the significance of digitalisation, technology innovations, mobility issues, and more.
Heureka! 7 May
For the first time, entrepreneur and startup magazines Gründerszene and VentureVillage will jointly host a one day event in English with an outdoor BBQ to boot. Heureka! will spotlight the most important tools for building a successful Internet business and all the the latest ideas and trends from the business world in the form of talks, workshops and networking rounds from some of the world’s biggest industry leaders and innovators. The Heureka! website is expected to launch by the end of the week, so stay tuned for all the details.
Startup Weekend – 4-6 May
In Startup Weekend‘s third instalment in Berlin, the event consistently draws in around 10,000 attendees and city-hops across the globe. The aim of the weekend is get startup enthusiasts to mingle, pitch ideas, form teams, and present a minimally viable product to a panel of experts. The purpose of it all is simple: to hopefully launch a startup!
NEXT Berlin – 8-9 May
This hotly anticipated event is arguably Europe’s leading conference for the digital industry. NEXT Berlin – an annual tech melting pot, will feature knowledge-sharing talks from experienced founders, investors and business innovators. Additionally, some startups will be invited to pitch their ideas live on stage to international experts.
European Venture Market – 8-9 May
This two-day networking conference, will include up to 300 investors, service providers, and early stage companies from various areas of the industry. European Venture Market attendees will have the chance to meet, greet, discuss and share business ideas and projects. Participating entrepreneurs are also given the chance to pitch their ideas to a crowd of investors.
Informare! 8-10 May
This new conference aims to highlight the role of scientific, technical and professional information in education, science and society. Key issues at Informare! will include; scientific communication, information management, search engines, e-readers and gaming.
