Social Media Week is taking over Berlin for another year, with about 100 events hosted across the capital this September. The free conference – apparently Germany’s largest – will be exploring the problems we face in our social-media obsessed society and providing tips on how to best use social networks for your company.
From 22 to 27 September, SMW will be held under the motto of (Re)Balance – rethinking traditional structures. The title reflects the conference’s aim this year to reduce gender inequality in the workforce.
Topics covered throughout the five-day conference include: how social media effects teaching, how to avoid legal problems in social media marketing, data protection online, how seniors are using social media and a presentation on new approaches to fighting disease. A jobs fair will be held on Wednesday, with 1000 jobs on offer. ImmobilienScout24’s office in Friedrichshain will be the venue for most of the events.
For those working on their own app, the conference will host international travelling app showcase AppCircus – it’s a pitch competition, free to enter, with the winner receiving the chance to head to the world championships at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February. The deadline to enter the competition is 15 September 2013.
Register here to secure your spot at the different events. SMW offers a Connected Pass for €50 which gives participants access to all events without registration plus master classes and entry to a private networking party.
