TechCrunch Disrupt is one of the most anticipated technology conferences of the year. This year the event comes to Berlin on 28 and 29 October for the first time to present startups, influential speakers and special guests.

Getting your cash from the crowd

Slava Rubin, founder and CEO of Indiegogo, is in town. Founded in early 2008, Indiegogo has been a trail blazer for the crowdfunding concept, their largest campaigns net almost $2m. In addition to Slava, Thomas Herzog from will be on stage giving insights into the crowd-investment side of things.

To find out what works and what doesn’t there will also be two crowdfunded startups on stage. This is a great opportunity to understand mechanics and best practices, ask questions, and see if your own idea could get cash from the crowd too.

Before you spend thousands of dollars and months of your life on a new idea, come and learn how to validate your idea with real customers – not just your family and friends. Startup Weekend NEXT is a new part-time programme for teams that have an idea but need to test customer and business model assumptions. In Berlin, it will be hosted at Google in partnership with the Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society.

Web Summit

Tony Hawk, Phil Libin and Kevin Rose – these are just a few of the prominent names you’ll see at this year’s Web Summit in Dublin. The two-day conference, also known as the “Europe’s SXSW”, will bring more than 350 speakers – including the world’s leading founders, investors, designers and thinkers – on stage. The summit organisers are expecting more than 10.000 tech lovers from 80 countries in Dublin to discuss the latest trends and findings of the scene.
