Juniqe, an art and fashion online shop that opened in January 2014, bought Berlin-based vintage and design market platform Stylemarks. Stylemarks was founded in June 2013 and received its last funding in February 2013.
Juniqe was founded by the two former Fab employees Lea Lange and Mark Pohl along with their friend Sebastian Hasebrink. In an interview with Gründerszene, both companies explain that it makes sense to merge since they address the same markets. While Stylemarks focused on technological knowledge, especially on mobile commerce, Junique concentrated on the getting more products on its platform. These two components, Lea Lange explains, are a perfect fit to build Europe’s biggest online shop for individual and affordable art.
Juniqe is currently working on raising an A round deal that should be signed this summer. Until then, Stylemarks’ senior team will maintain an advisory role. Afterwards, new rolls will have to be defined, CEO of Stylemarks Oliver Bronner said.
Styplemark’s investors include Telekom’s incubator hub:raum, Venista Venture and Family’s Venture Capital, who support the merge.
A comment on the acquisition is not available from Stylemarks at the moment.
