Facebook has today announced that Developer World HACK 2012, a two-month touring hackathon event, will stop by Berlin, as well Barcelona, Warsaw, and Moscow.
The eight-hour Hackathon will take place in Berlin’s Café Moskau on September 11, with all programmers invited to take part. “We look forward to spending time with developers in Germany’s wonderful capital city,” said Facebook in a statement to VentureVillage.
Software devs are expected to hack on the Facebook Open Graph, with the best app to win its team a trip to San Francisco to visit the Facebook campus and meet its team.
“The World HACK series is designed to bring the Facebook Developer story to a new set of cities — homes to some of the world’s most vibrant and fast-growing developer communities,” said Facebook developer advocate James Pearce on the company blog.
Participating developers will also get time with Facebookers, including technical sessions on social gaming, Open Graph, mobile apps and hands-on help from Facebook engineers.
Developer World HACK will kick off on August 23 in Austin, Texas, and continue onto Vancouver, Mexico City, Buenos Aires and São Paulo at the end of August.
The event will also take place in Asia, including Taipei, Jakarta, and Bangalore, with the whole tour to finish up in early October.
Demand for the World HACK series is high, so register soon to secure a place.
