Infographic: The most active investors in Europe revealed

German seed investor High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) is the most active investor for Europe-based, VC-backed companies – with 16 completed deals – according to a quarterly report released by Dow Jones VentureSource. Coming in second place is Danish VC firm SEED Capital with 12 completed deals in the last quarter.

While European venture capital declined in the first three months of the year – dipping 13 per cent in the number of funds and five per cent in amount raised from the previous quarter – VC investment into European companies experienced a slight increase.

Overall, Germany still lags behind the UK, France and Finland in fourth place raising €113m – a 10 per cent share of Europe-wide investment. Not only that, this number is a big drop from the €249m raised in Q4 of 2012.

On the other hand, topping the list and retaining its position as the most popular destination for equity financing is the UK raising €477m across 67 deals – 34 per cent of all investments into European VC-backed companies.
