d3media is looking for a rockstar Software Engineer to own and drive our data processing systems. The online advertising space has a huge breadth of technologies and products. d3media is building intelligence, targeting optimisation systems to solve long-standing problems with display advertising. Our goal is to make display ads more relevant by ensuring the ads are interesting to the user and giving the user transparency and control over their ad experience.
About the job
We are a small high-energy startup right on the Elbe in Hamburg
We are improving the relevance of online advertising by using data to ensure the ads we deliver are the right ones
We are putting consumers in the driver seat when it comes to their online advertising experience
Some of the technologies we use: nodejs, cfengine, hadoop, scribe, haproxy, nginx
We are building a multi-datacenter, multi-continent scale from the beginning through to smart architecture, virtualised servers and lots of automation
We don’t have any large monolithic applications but have a system composed of many lightweight, loosely coupled pieces (open-source and/or in-house)
You are a problem-solving machine that understands there is a big difference between a programmer and an engineer
You are a self-starter that works well in small teams and can drive your own projects
You have a big-picture mindset and realise the need to understand the business problems you are solving to develop a good technical solution
You have experience with hard problems (performance, scale, availability) with some success stories and learnings
You love to learn new things
You have some awesome stuff to teach us
You speak and write English proficiently
You love math (modeling and statistics are super useful)
If you have experience with Hadoop, HBase, hive, pig, pentaho, CFEngine, star schemas and cubes that’s a plus

About the job
You will be independently responsible for the development and maintenance of apps which make optimum use of our technology
You will work closely with other developers and our design team
You will bring your own ideas to the development and implementation of innovative app concepts and user interfaces
You are up on the latest on the Android platform and common third party libraries
Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Media Technology or similar qualification.
Self-motivated with the ability to work as part of a team.
Work experience in app development with several apps deployed to the Google Play Store.
Excellent knowledge of Java and the complexities of the Android platform.
You can write and maintain solid, object-oriented programming and have experience in versioning.
A working knowledge of English is required as part of our international team

Sorting, organizing, matching and reviewing vendor invoices for accuracy and completeness
Experience in completing and reviewing tax forms related to international activities
Working with our payment team and reviewing the invoices from our payment provider
Setting up monthly Royalty Reports for our Game Developer Partners
Other duties as assigned
Completed training or degree as tax accountant assistant or education in a similar field
EU Tax law
First experience in handling of payment provider invoices are an advantage
Advanced Excel skills
Good knowledge of the English language
Highly flexible and able to work under pressure
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Detailed understanding of DATEV
