One Spark, the crowdfunding festival, is expanding internationally for the first time to Berlin and will take place from September 12-14, 2014 at the Alte Münze in Mitte.
At One Spark, creators from all over the world meet for a crowdfunding festival in art, music, science, technology and innovation.
After creators submitted their ideas, an independent jury will choose the ones that will present their ideas and projects live at the event. The crowd, who can attend the event for free, can vote for the best ideas in the event’s app or via text message. Attendees vote for their favorite projects to divide over €100,000 in public prize money. The event will also offer creators a pool of €50,000 in juried awards and up to €1 million in potential capital investments.
During the first two events in Jacksonville, Florida, One Spark has provided access to more than $4.75 million in capital to 1,016 projects and attracted 390,000 attendees. Berlin will now be the first place outside the US to host this event.
“We live and work in a global ecosystem. Berlin, an international center for tech, startups, culture, politics, media and science, is the perfect destination for the first international expansion of One Spark,” says Elton Rivas, co-founder of One Spark.
The crowdfunding is now open starting at €5.
