A few weeks ago a Foodora messenger talked about his life on the road. But what’s it like to work in the food delivery service’s Berlin office?

Foodora’s office is near Ostkreuz. Delivery boxes and backpacks greet you in the reception room on the second floor. None of the bikes used for delivery are there but a promotional pink bike used for marketing can be seen. The Foodora-pink boxes are tested prior to use and many are found in the offices. The design and marketing team get to work planning the next campaigns and sorting images. The department also deals with newsletters, billboard campaigns and flyers. They sit in large, loft-like offices.

Foodora was founded in 2014 under the name “Volo”. After being acquired by Rocket Internet, they changed their name. Half a year later in September 2015 they were acquired by Delivery Hero. Now, over 1000 bike messengers work for Foodora and deliver to over 14 German cities and the company is still expanding. They’re planning to move to a bigger office soon.
