Ticket-selling service Seatwave has just announced the launch of two APIs that allow developers to embed event search and ticket purchasing functionality into their sites.
The discovery API allows users to tap into Seatwave data to see what shows are in their area, while a white-label purchase app will provide a new way to buy straight from a site. Developers will receive a profit-share on both apps.
These launches follow on from the release of Seatwave’s iOS SDK in December 2011, which allows similar functionality to be integrated into apps – an offering taken up by German company MusicDNA ID.
This opens up massive opportunities for startup sites and blogs in the spheres of travel, entertainment and music who want to offer their customers a simple retail experience along with editorial offerings, as well as help to generate extra revenue.
