Vamos, an event guide app for iOS, that shows you what’s happening around you, recently closed an undisclosed 6-digit amount from business angels such as Soundcloud’s CTO and co-founder Erik Wahlforss and Karl Sandstedt, Industry Manager at Google. In 2012, the Berlin-based startup raised €100,000 during a “friends and family” round. Now, the event guide app for iOS counts 100,000 downloads and is in need of a redesign and received fresh capital to do so.
In addition to already mentioned investors, Daniel Bornstein, Los Angeles-based investor and VP of Global Advertising for deviantART, and Jan-Åke Classon, board member of the Atlant Fund, joined the round. All four will join Vamos’ advisory board.
In order to make Vamos what SoundCloud has become for sound, Vamos wants to move to the next level by adding Eventim and StubHub to its events source. Until now, the events have been aggregated by Facebook, Eventbrite, and Ticketmaster.
According to Vamos’ CEO Luis Daniel Alegría, Vamos currently aggregates 500,000 events monthly. In order to assure that no duplicate events appear, he stated the technical issue is solved in the backend where event title, addresses and the time it takes place are matched. It’s working well, he said, but edge cases can appear.

The team of five has launched the redesigned iOS app and the website on Friday and will soon release the Android app.
