With the past decade heralding the momentous growth in technology within the internet industry, the 'lack of women in tech' debate continues to gather steam. But, in the German capital, more than 200 women are looking to do something about it. They're called the Berlin Geekettes, and just maybe - they'll help narrow the gender-gap.
Shying away from the mention of "feminism" in favour of "equalism", it's not so much a "sisters are doin' it for themselves" kind of deal - men too, are welcome to join. The group, founded by startup PR agent Jessica Erickson, serves as a community of women helping each other, as well as empowering and inspiring more women to love tech and board the cyber bandwagon.
