27. December 2012–
Are you feeling a post-festive ennui? Listless? Directionless? Questioning your place in life’s gigantic jigsaw? What you need, my friend, is some beer… and some good company to wash it down with.
That’s why VentureVillage has teamed up with Wayra to organise the first Berlin networking event of 2013. We’ll be hosting an evening of informal beers at Kommerzpunk on Monday 7 January in order for you to meet and mingle with the VentureVillage and Wayra teams, as well as find out just what Telefónica’s global startup accelerator has planned in Europe startups this year.
Wayra has just announced a new global call for startup applications for all of its European Academies, inducing the brand new Prague Academy and the German outpost in Munich. Budding tech entrepreneurs can submit their projects, with the best ideas each receiving a significant boost to their business through investment and access to Wayra’s state-of-the-art workspace and global network.
Successful projects will receive help to grow their business, with technical and commercial support to further develop their ideas. The projects will also get access to other entrepreneurs across the network of Wayra Academies in Europe and Latin America.
Welcome back to reality – did we mention there’s free beer?
To celebrate, Wayra have teamed up with Venture Village to host an evening of “Welcome Back” drinks and fun for Berlin’s startup community at Kommerzpunk on the evening of Monday, 7 Jan. We will have Wayra European Director of Operations Ann Parker on hand and keen to meet Berlin folks face-to-face over a few drinks.
No formalities, no Powerpoints, no long talks. Wayra will be putting cash behind the bar so it’s the perfect opportunity to meet the team. “We’re extremely proud of Wayra – in a little over a year we have launched 12 Wayra spaces globally to encourage the best digital startup talent to realise their dreams” says Simon Devonshire, Wayra Europe Director. “And we’re not done yet – our 13th Academy will be launching in Prague in early 2013.
“We’re delighted to be working with VentureVillage to help connect us with anyone who might be interested in applying for a spot in Prague – and of course in any of our other academies with spaces too.”
Register here – we mentioned the beer, right?
Spaces are on a first come, first served basis, so click on to our Eventbrite page to register your attendance. What better way to start the first full working week of the year? See you there…
