Tomorrow will see royalty arrive in Germany – with Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice setting off on their 12 month so-called "GREAT Britain MINI tour" across the country. First stop: Berlin and, according to our sources, visits to startups Zalando, Soundcloud and Bigpoint are on the cards.
Why visit startups? A press release on the British Embassy website explains that the tour is a bid to strengthen ties between the UK and Germany. At the startups, the princesses will discuss eCommerce and the expansion of Berlin-based companies into the UK. This could be of interest to Beatrice, who is currently working at a venture capital firm in London.
The tour is sponsored by BMW/MINI Deutschland, which could explain why the princesses will be arriving at the Brandenburg Gate in a not-so-subtle Union Jack-painted Mini tomorrow morning. According to the Guardian, the ladies won't be making full use of their royal status en route, but will be joining the masses to fly in standard economy class.
Over the course of the year the sisters will visit all 16 German states in an effort to promote the best of British culture, arriving in the nick of time to enjoy Berlin Fashion Week festivities and visit the Bread and Butter fashion fair.
